Techno Classica Salon 2027 in Dortmund

The Techno Classica Salon is SIHA's continuation of the Techno-Classica, which ran for 35 editions in Essen from 1989 until 2025. After Messe Essen and SIHA ended their cooperation, the show moved to Messe Dortmund (Westfalenhallen) with a new name and a new September date. The 2027 edition runs from 23 to 26 September.

The Dortmund premiere on 24-27 September 2026 was held under the patronage of ADAC Westfalen. According to the organiser, more than 2,700 collector vehicles were spread across about 50,000 m2 and six halls. More than 100 brand clubs took part alongside dealers, restorers and parts and accessory suppliers. The organiser reports that around 150 cars changed hands over the four days. The upper price segment performed well, while mid-market buyers looked harder at condition, history and price.

The 2026 edition included Bugatti Grand Prix cars around the SIHA pavilion, a Karmann special exhibition for the coachbuilder's 125 years on the DEUVET stand, and a new Future Classics audience prize awarded with OLDTIMER MARKT. Press reviews praised the compact layout but noted teething problems such as signage. Zwischengas called the debut almost a perfect landing.

SIHA managing director Janine Franssen leads the project, and a 2028 edition is already planned. For collectors who knew the Essen show, expect fewer halls but a more concentrated and conversational atmosphere at the end of the driving season.
